Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-14

This policy explains what personal data Kojagiri (“we”) collects through CampJatra, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”).

In short: we collect what is needed to take and honour a camping booking. We only send you marketing messages if you tick the box asking for them, and you can withdraw that at any time without losing your booking.

1. Who we are

Kojagiri, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra 411038. You can reach us at skojagiri@gmail.com or +919209707198. For the purposes of the DPDP Act we are the Data Fiduciary for the data described below.

When you book a camp listed on CampJatra, that camp’s operator also receives your booking details and acts as a Data Fiduciary for their own records of your stay.

2. What we collect

DataWhyBasis
Name and mobile numberTo identify you, sign you in, and confirm your bookingNecessary for the service
Email address (optional)To send your booking confirmation and billNecessary for the service
Booking details — dates, guests, accommodation, meal preferenceTo deliver and price your stayNecessary for the service
Payment records — amount, method, statusTo issue your bill and keep financial recordsLegal obligation
Stay history, loyalty points, referralsTo operate the loyalty and referral programmesNecessary for the service
Reviews you writeTo show ratings to other travellersYour submission
Marketing consent recordTo prove you agreed before we message youLegal obligation

We do not collect your location unless you explicitly allow it in your browser, and we do not store your card details — those stay with our payment provider.

3. Marketing messages and consent

We only send promotional messages if you have opted in. The consent box is never pre-ticked, and declining it does not affect your booking.

Every consent decision is recorded as a dated event, including the exact wording you agreed to. Withdrawing consent is permanent — making another booking later does not silently re-enrol you. You can withdraw at any time from your profile, or by replying STOP to any WhatsApp message.

Messages about a booking you have actually made — confirmations, bills, check-in details — are service messages and are sent regardless, because you need them.

4. Who else sees your data

  • The camp you book. They receive your name, contact number, stay details and any preferences you give, so they can host you. They do not receive details of bookings you make at other camps.
  • Our payment provider processes payments and holds the payment instrument details. We never see or store your card number.
  • Our messaging provider delivers WhatsApp or SMS messages you have agreed to receive, such as booking confirmations and reminders.
  • Our hosting and backup providers store the data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

5. Data separation between businesses

CampJatra hosts many independent camping businesses. Each operator can only ever see their own customers and bookings. This is enforced by the database itself, not merely by the application, and is verified by automated tests.

6. How long we keep it

  • Booking and payment records — retained as long as required by Indian tax and accounting law.
  • Consent records — retained for as long as we may need to prove the basis on which we contacted you.
  • Everything else — deleted or anonymised on request, subject to the two categories above.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate
  • Erase your data, subject to our legal retention duties
  • Withdraw a consent you previously gave
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf

Write to skojagiri@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on servers in India. Passwords and session tokens are stored hashed, never in readable form. Access to customer data inside a business is restricted by role — for example, booking-desk staff cannot see revenue figures or export customer lists.

9. Children

CampJatra is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Where a child is included in a booking, we hold only the number of children, not their personal details.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, tell you directly.
